UPRISE is a mobile puzzle game set in a science fiction world where an alien race is being suppressed. The player is takes the role of a rebel alien who sets out to free her father from a sprawling space prison. In each level the player must progress upwards to be able to teleport to the next prison block. You do this by rotating floors to avoid enemies or connect wires to teleporting doorways.
My role in the production was as level designer. I focused on creating the best player experience in terms of gameplay and level progression. To learn more about these concepts, I researched and tried adapt my workflow to the evolving design tools developed by the programmers. The process taught me valuable insights into usability and the design of gameplay progression.
The game was made during at the Danish National Academy of Digital Interactive Entertainment (DADIU) programme in 2015.
